British Wrestling Education Team hosted two courses this weekend. We had the Level 1 Coaching Wrestling Course in London and the Level 1 Refereeing Wrestling in Glasgow.
On the 29th April, we had the Level 1 in Coaching Wrestling hosted at Dedworth Middle School in London. The BWA Tutors who delivered this course were Trevor and Jit. Both our Tutors are well-established and experienced coaches. They passed on their experience and expertise over the weekend to 8 new Assistant Coaches.
British Wrestling also worked with Scottish Wrestling to organise a Level 1 Refereeing Wrestling course held at Glasgow Palace of Art. This course was delivered by BWA Tutor and Referee Vasile and BWA Lead Technical Official Richard Phillips. The course was well received with 8 in attendance. We had 7 new referee officials and 1 referee attending as a refresher course.
British Wrestling’s Development Manager, Andreas Michaelas, had this to say: “The sport is continuing to grow from strength to strength and this is just evidence of that“.
British Wrestling continues to review and improve our Coach/Referee Education Pathways with the aim to simplify them and make them more inclusive.
