
In an update to the 17 Nov British Wrestling news item, UK Anti-Doping is publicising further information on the World Anti-Doping Agency banned-substance list for 2017.
The WADA 2017 Prohibited List comes into effect on 1 January.
It is extremely important that athletes and support personnel: –
- take the necessary time to read all of the information that is available to them
- understand the changes that have been made
- ensure that any medications or supplements are checked to see whether their ingredients have been added to the List
UK Anti-Doping realises that understanding the WADA 2017 Prohibited List can be a bit of a challenge.
So UK Anti-Doping have put together a number of useful resources that can be found below: –
- The UKAD website, which gives background information on the List and provides a summary of key modifications in the 2017 version
- UKAD’s Clean Sport Blog, which breaks the List down further and provides guidance on two particular changes that have been made in the 2017 version
- Specific fact sheets for athletes, support personnel and National Governing Bodies, which detail key changes in the List (See links below)
