British Wrestling are continuing to improve safety for athletes Mat side. This includes all coaches who are cornering to have a coaches licenses. Below is a ‘How to’ guide to receiving your license.
The coach who will be cornering at the competition needs to sign into their British Wrestling Membership Portal and upload the latest qualifications including:
- BWA ‘Full’ Membership
- Enhanced DBS Check
- Safeguarding Qualification
- First Aid
- Coaching Certificate

Once this is uploaded, British Wrestling will review your qualifications. Once approved a license will be given to your account. Please allow up to 24-48 hours for this to activate.
