British Wrestling is pleased to announce that the club affiliation process for the 2026 membership year is now open. Affiliated clubs are encouraged to begin their re-affiliation procedures promptly to ensure a smooth and timely renewal ahead of the 1st January 2026 deadline.
This period provides an ideal opportunity for clubs to review and update all relevant documentation, policies, and compliance records to maintain alignment with British Wrestling’s governance and welfare standards. Ensuring that all information is accurate and up to date supports the continued integrity, safety, and professionalism of the sport at every level.
To assist clubs in completing the process, the following requirements outline what is needed to affiliate with the National Governing Body (NGB):

- Requirements:
- Insurance Cover: Provide evidence of public liability insurance cover for wrestling activity (minimum cover £5,000,000)
- Safeguarding Officer: A dedicated individual responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all members with an enhanced criminal records check, safeguarding training and a paid British Wrestling membership
- Safeguarding Code: Have achieved or be working towards the Martial Arts Code of Conduct
