British Wrestling is supporting the Windsor Wrestling Academy through our legacy project. The legacy project seeks to increase female participation in wrestling and promote its benefits, such as improving strength, focus, speed, endurance, confidence, and discipline.
The Windsor Wrestling Academy partnered with British Wrestling to host a female-only introduction to wrestling event in early April as well as a weekly female-only session. The event attracted women from all over the country, both novice and experienced wrestlers, who found the day fun and engaging.
The academy, ran by coaches Jit and Oksana, was established to develop wrestling skills for children, women, and adults. Jit and Oksana are both experienced wrestlers who treat the wrestling mat as a happy place and aim to share their knowledge with everyone.
According to the coaches, wrestling has significant benefits for mental health. When stepping onto the mat, one leaves behind all their problems and focuses solely on improving themselves. Through wrestling, individuals can become better, stronger, and more confident.
The Windsor Wrestling Academy is committed to motivating children, men, and women through the sport. The academy provides a supportive atmosphere where individuals can grow and develop as part of the wrestling family. The coaches believe that nothing can compare to the experience of being part of this family.
BWA’s support for the Windsor Wrestling Academy is a step towards increasing female participation in wrestling and promoting its many benefits. The academy provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to develop their physical and mental capabilities while being part of a supportive community.
