British Wrestling, working with Sport England, has released support totalling over £120,000 to Community Wrestling Clubs around England through the Together Fund to assist in their vital work in their communities.
These clubs are all working towards similar goals in engaging with Low Social Economic Groups, Culturally Diverse Communities and supporting our goal to increase participation for women in our sport.
In 2021/22 British Wrestling distributed £60,000 to 37 clubs helping them to bounce back from the pandemic. This funding supported clubs to reopen and improve their sustainability and resilience to continue to deliver wrestling to the local communities.
In 2022/3 British Wrestling secured an additional £75,000 to support clubs to continue their work in growing wrestling in the communities they serve.

In addition to funding direct to clubs, the British Wrestling development team will be working with clubs to improve their sustainability and resilience through additional training for volunteers and support in developing club governance and planning.
