The British Wrestling Association is seeking applications to form a new governing body for Wrestling in Northern Ireland.
Applicants should contact the Chief Executive of British Wrestling via e-mail at ce@britishwrestling.org by the deadline for applications, midday, Monday 31st December 2018.
At the 2018 British Wrestling Association Annual General Meeting in Peterborough on Saturday 10 November 2018, the BWA Voting Members, with no votes against, voted to expel the current governing body, Northern Ireland Wrestling Association (NIWA), as a Voting Member of the BWA. This expulsion came after a period when little pro-active central support for Wrestling participation and talent development had taken place in Northern Ireland – in the terms of the Special Resolution “the NIWA has suspended operations …”
Applications to the BWA to form a Governing Body should follow the conditions laid down in the BWA 2017 Articles of Association (link) at Article 3.5.
3.5 All applications for membership under Article 3.4 must be made in writing, in such form as prescribed by the Board from time to time, [by e-mail to the Chief Executive at ce@britishwrestling.org ] and must be accompanied by:
