Elements of the Commonwealth England Squad attended the 2017 Sassari tournament in Sicily, 27th May 2017
 
 
 
 
 
Chloe SPITERI  WW – 63 kg
Chloe was unlucky, being the only entrant across the 69kg and 63kg categories.  Chloe had a walkover for GOLD. Chloe then went on to have a friendly with Linda Morais of Canada, winner of the 60kg category, but lost 10-0
George RAMM FS – 61 kg
George Ramm lost his first match 8-3 to Pablo Gonzalez Spain.  George also lost his second match 10-0 to Sung-min Choi Korea.  However, he won his 3rd match 6-0 and with a retirement from Italian Abdellatif Mansour.  George then lost his fourth match to Taylor Lamont USA by a pin.  Overall,
George finished fourth with no second bronze
Georgina NELTHORPE WW – 75 kg
Georgina Nethorpe took BRONZE beating Elani Pjollaj Italy by a pin in the second round.  In Georgina’s second match, she beat Enrica Rinaldi Italy by a pin in the second round. Her third and forth matches she lost by pins to Catalina Axsente Romania and E. Syzdykova Kazakhstan
Leon RATTIGAN FS – 97 kg
Leon won GOLD, beating Marco Carcea Italy 10-0 in his first match and, in his second match, beating Simone Ianniattoni Italy 11-2
