Junior World Championship

Congratulations to Anastasiia Buriatynska who gained 5th place out of 23 in her weight category in the Junior World Championships, winning three matches but loosing to the eventual winner, and narrowly loosing the Bronze medal match.
Details of Anastasiia’s matches as follows: –
‘v’ ROU: Won 4-0; 8-0
‘v’ AZE: Won 4-0; 0-1; 1-0
‘v’ GER: Won 8-0; 3-0; Pin
‘v’ JPN: Lost 2-1; 0-2; 1-3 (JPN eventual winner)
Bronze Medal Match
‘v’ ECU: Lost 6-7; 1-1 (ECU scored last point in very close match)

The Junior World Championship is taking place fron 26 to 31 July 2011 in Bucarest (ROU). No less than 50 countries travelled to Romania to compete in this important competition that year after year reveals the future wrestling champions.
The competition will start with Greco-Roman wrestling, be followed by female wrestling and close with the freestyle tournament.

55kg Craig McKenna (however, unable to compete due to proximity with Commonwealth Championships in Australia)
