British Wrestling’s current Strategic Intent document ends this year. And whilst our minds, right now, might be more on when we can Return to the Mat it is important to look forward and plan for wrestling’s future.
Behind the scenes British Wrestling has been working on developing a new strategy for 2021 to 2025, gathering key insight from meetings, conversations and other interactions with our members, clubs, stakeholders, and partners. The 2020 Member Survey gave us further opportunity to understand key issues for our members and the wider wrestling family.
It is British Wrestling’s ambition that the strategy serves as a coherent approach for the sport. It is intended to reflect the priorities for wrestling across the UK whilst recognising the diversity of delivery agencies involved in wrestling.
Chief Executive, Craig Anthony said “I am calling on all our members, clubs and affiliates to engage in the development process so that this strategy can truly reflect their ambitions for the sport. This is an opportunity to demonstrate the cohesiveness and inclusivity of the sport to each other and to our stakeholders”
Next is an opportunity for you to talk with Craig via Microsoft Teams where he will share a first draft of the strategy. These hour-long sessions will take place over July and will feature a presentation from Craig with an opportunity to ask questions and raise discussion points to ensure this strategy reflects the needs and wants of the whole wrestling family.
To safeguard everyone on the sessions we ask that you register in advance using Go Membership, links to the individual events are listed below:
If you aren’t able to join one of the strategy sessions you can still contribute your views on the draft strategy through this questionnaire.
