We are thrilled to announce that Danoush Jowkar has been selected to represent Great Britain at the U17 World Championships in Amman, Jordan. Competing in the Freestyle 60kg category, Danoush will take to the mat on Saturday, 24th August.
Danoush’s selection follows an impressive performance at the U17 European Championships, where he showcased his talent and determination by finishing in 5th place. This achievement highlights his growth and commitment to the sport, and we are excited to see him build on this momentum at the World Championships. Danoush will be accompanied by Performance Manager Kieran Malone and National Coach Ross Connelly.
Last year, Danoush secured a 10th place finish in the U17 World Championships. As this is his final year competing in the U17 category before moving up to U20, Danoush is eager to surpass last year’s result and make his mark on the global stage.
Supporters can catch all the action live on UWW+, and we encourage everyone to tune in and cheer for Danoush as he represents our nation with pride and determination.
Best of luck to Danoush Jowkar at the U17 World Championships!
