We’re delighted to share some important news regarding how we capture and share the thrilling moments from British Wrestling competitions. In our ongoing commitment to provide the best possible experience for our members and to safeguard the visual representation of our sport, we’ve established a brand new, dedicated platform for all official competition photography: onthemat.britishwrestling.org.
This marks an exciting evolution in how we manage the valuable imagery that so vividly portrays the dedication, athleticism, and sheer excitement of British Wrestling. On this new site, you will find the exceptional work of our dedicated 2024 Volunteer of the Year, Dave Morgan, widely known as OnTheMatUK, alongside contributions from other official British Wrestling photographers who tirelessly capture the action mat-side.
Moving forward, all photographs from our competitions will be exclusively hosted within this secure environment. To ensure the privacy and accessibility for those directly involved, each competition will have its own dedicated gallery, accessible via a unique password that will be shared with attendees and British Wrestling members following the event.
We firmly believe in the power of these images to not only serve as lasting memories for those who compete and attend but also to act as a vital tool in promoting our fantastic sport to a wider audience. Therefore, we are pleased to confirm that all photographs on this new platform will remain completely free for you to download. Our ambition is that you, our valued members, will continue to play a crucial role in raising the profile of British Wrestling by sharing these high-quality images across your personal social media profiles and with local news outlets. Your enthusiasm and willingness to share these moments are invaluable in showcasing the positive impact and excitement of wrestling within our communities.
This strategic move to a dedicated platform underscores our unwavering commitment to the safety and security of everyone involved in British Wrestling. In today’s digital landscape, where concerns surrounding the potential misuse of online content, including advancements in AI image manipulation, are increasingly significant, we have taken proactive steps to provide a more controlled and protected space for these visual assets. By centralising our competition photography on a password-protected site, we can exercise greater oversight and offer our community greater peace of mind.
We are confident that this new system will offer a streamlined, user-friendly, and secure experience for all. It will serve as a central hub where you can easily find and download high-quality images from the competitions you attend. We encourage you to visit onthemat.britishwrestling.org after our upcoming events to explore the galleries and witness the fantastic moments captured. Keep an eye out for the password to the relevant competition gallery, which will be communicated to you shortly after the event has concluded.
Thank you for your continued dedication to British Wrestling. We are incredibly proud of our community and believe this new platform will further enhance your connection to the sport and its vibrant moments. We eagerly anticipate seeing you share these brilliant images and continue to champion the growth and success of British Wrestling.
