The 1st meeting took place of a new committee on 31st January – The interim England Wrestling Committee
Through 2011, the Northern, Midlands and Southern England Regions worked towards the formation of an England Wrestling Committee, with the support of Sport England. The Committee is part of the British Wrestling Association, the national governing body for wrestling in England as recognised by Sport England.
The first meeting of the interim committee was described by all as a positive and worthwhile experience all attention focused on taking wrestling forward in England. Summary minutes are available via the following [link]. The committee will work on a 2013-17 Whole Sport Plan for submission to Sport England and finalise the committee’s Terms of Reference.
The interim committee is formed from 2x representatives from each of the three England Regions, 2x competency-based leads (Club and Membership Development Lead; Performance and Talent Pathway Lead) and the British Wrestling Chief Executive.
