On International Women’s Day, we are pleased to announce that that from 1st April 2020 we will be offering a free female place on every level 1 and level 2 coaching course.
British Wrestling is committed to growing female participation in wrestling. We recognise that to do this we need to increase the number of female coaches and role models in the UK.
We have some fantastic athletes and coaches leading the way but to improve the experience for women and girls of all ages we need to make a marked shift in the number of female participants and volunteers. It is hoped that this programme will assist some of you who have been considering coaching in becoming coaches who can help us grow female participation.

To apply for a free place, please send an email with the subject ‘Free Women’s Coaching Course Place’ to admin@britishwrestling.org with the following information:
- Your name
- Your address
- The club you are a member of, if applicable
- The course you are applying for a free place on
- Details of your current coaching experience, if any
- How you would use the coaching qualification to increase female participation in wrestling
Free places will be provided on a first come first served basis and must be applied for by describing how you will use the qualification to increase the number of female wrestlers in the UK. British Wrestling reserves the right to allocate these free places based on the potential impact on participation. This programme is only available to British Wrestling members and will run until 31st March 2021.
