It is with great sadness that Bolton Olympic Wrestling Club have to inform you that Herbie Hall passed away on 26th. February 2013.
Herbie Hall was a member of Bolton Olympic Wrestling Club for many, many years. He held 10 British Championship Titles.
He was Featherweight (63 Kilo) British Champion in 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957 1961 & 1963, and Lightweight British Champion (69 Kilo) in 1958 & 1959.
Herbie competed in 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki, Finland and 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne, Australia. He was a Silver Medalist (Featherweight) at the 1954 British Empire & Commonwealth Games in Vancouver, Canada, and came 4th in the 1958 British Empire & Commonwealth Games in Cardiff, Wales.
The Manchester Evening News published an article about Herbie’s significant achievements.
Herbie’s funeral will be held at Hollinwood crematorium on 12th March 2013 at 1pm.
