The GB Talent Squad and British Wrestling
The GBTalent Squad is part of the British Wrestling GB Talent Pathway and is the responsibility of the Performance Management Group. Accountability for the running of the GB Talent Squad rests with the British Wrestling Performance Director

General
- Squad meets on regular basis and minimum 6 times per year
- The National Junior Coaches will put together an annual competition and training schedule
- Current expectation is that there are unlikely to be more than 25 athletes of the required standard
The GB Talent Squad continues the change from what has been happening in the past. The change took place for the following reasons: –
- Variety in standard of athletes
- Too many participants – clubs currently nominating individuals
- Selection criteria not clear
- No clear performance pathway
- Need to develop structure capable of consistently producing international standard athletes
