Introducing Clubmark

Clubmark is a Sport England Initiative. However, there are discussions currently taking place about a similar scheme operating in Northern Ireland.

In England, Clubmark is the only national cross sports quality accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. It is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.

Sport England recognises and values the commitment made by sports clubs to develop high quality, welcoming environments for young participants. The development of clubs that encourage young people to take-up sport, improve their talents and give them the option to initiate and maintain life-long participation in sport is an essential part of our work to support the sporting infrastructure in England.

Clubmark and Wrestling
British Wrestling has put together a National Playing Programme for Wrestling Clubs to sign-up to and follow. This will enable the Clubmark Organisation and its affiliates in the Community Sports Partnerships (CSPs) to assess clubs for their Clubmark.  (However, currently, not all CSPs are accredited assors).

Wrestling Clubs with Clubmark
Some Clubs have already achieved a similar accreditation with their local authority, but have been unable to convert this to the national Clubmark, through lack of the National Playing Programme up until now.  When conversion takes place they will be listed below and [Find a Club] contains information on whether a Club has Clubmark certification.
