Club Welfare Officers
Club Welfare Officers (CWO’s) are appointed by each BWA club to advise and ensure that the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults is adhered to both within their club and throughout the BWA. They are very often the hub of the club and the point of contact for all safeguarding concerns and queries.
CWO’s are trained in Safeguarding and Protecting Children (sportscoach uk), Time to Listen (CPSU/BWA) and are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) every 3 years.
The BWA is committed to the training and supporting of Club Welfare Officers to develop club guidelines and safety checklists for their members whether at their home club or travelling to competitions or abroad.
