32 young wrestlers from USA and Canada joined with the GB National Talent Squad for a training camp and competition at the British Wrestling Academy in Salford, held in parallel with the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The training camp, organised by the British Wrestling Association, included wrestlers from Canada (Toronto area) and USA (Ohio area). 16 GB National Talent Squad members took part and a further ten wrestlers from Austria joined for the competition in which 14 weight classes were contested.

The nine day camp began on Sunday 5th August with the travellers departing on Tuesday 14th August.

Alongside their wrestling, the travellers managed to find the time to watch USA ‘v’ Canada in a gripping semi-final women’s football match at Old Trafford (link).  The USA grabbed a last-gasp extra-time winner to seal their place in the final for the fifth successive tournament following their 4-3 win!
