The Glasgow 2014 Volunteer site is now live! As we get closer to the UK’s next big sporting event, volunteers are vital to making sure everything runs smoothly. And, hopefully, that’s where you come in.
Do you know someone who’d like to be part the 15,000-strong team of volunteers that is being built? If so, why not let them know about this fantastic chance to be part of the best show that Scotland has ever seen!
Below is some more information on the types of volunteers the Glasgow 2014 is looking for to deliiver the wrestling competition, and some of the roles they’ll be doing: –
Further information is available on the volunteering section of the Glasgow 2014 website, including all the information you need about the process (link). A link to the timeline is also available (link).
The role of volunteers at London 2012 was particular successful. The wrestling competition demonstrated the importance of having the right people in place to support the running of the competition.
The Scottish Wrestling Association wish to encourage all its members to consider these opportunities by logging-on to the link above (link).
The Scottish Wrestling Association is also asking those interested in any of these posts above to email the Scottish Wrestling Association secretary Brian Harper brian.harper537@btinternet.com with details of the post you wish to apply for. That will allow the Scottish Wrestling Association to add their support your application.
You can also apply for a non-specific post as Glasgow 2014 will be responsible for all recruitment of all volunteer posts.
Said Gerry Malone, President of the Scottish Wrestling Association, “The Scottish Wrestling Association wish to have an inclusive approach across the British Wrestling membership and offer these opportunities to all”
