An objective of British Wrestling’s new governance structure is to broaden accountability from the old Council into committees where the wider membership are given the chance to have their say and make a difference by taking on some of the workload from the hard-pressed few.
One such committee is the “Membership and Clubs Committee” which met for the first time during December. A website page for the committee has been created and can be accessed from the link below.
Volunteers who have agreed to sit on the Committee are:- Trevor Hoskins (Nations & Regions Representative – Midlands); Gregor McNeil (non-Exec Finance Director); Scotland: Brian Harper; North: Eddy Kavanagh; South: Numan Yayici; Northern Ireland: John O’Rawe; Wales: Sue Jones. The Committee is chaired by the CE, Colin Nicholson.
At its first meeting the Committee confirmed its Terms of Reference, Membership and its first business – to look at membership rates for the coming year. The committee recommended that the BWA should hold the rates at current levels for a year, or until a review of membership types/rates has taken place.
