The Sport England Small Grants Programme uses lottery funding to make awards of between £300 and £10,000 to not-for-profit organisations, like Wrestling Clubs, to deliver new community projects to either grow or sustain participation in sport or to support talent development. Some Wrestling Clubs have already been successful in obtaining grants from the Small Grants Programme.

Small Grants provides between £300 and £10,000 for community sports projects aimed at growing and sustaining participation. In the first two quarters of 2011-12, £2.9m of awards have been made, with 35 of the 09-13 Sport England-funded sports receiving funding. A £7m annual fund, Small Grants is an open programme that receives applications throughout the year, with an application success rate of approximately 50%.
