Cary Depel, the new Chair of British Wrestling, led from the front when he attended Day 1 & 2 of the UK Coaching Certificate Wrestling Level 2 qualification, this weekend.
Cary had earlier been the “first off the mark” to complete his application papers for the course, together with a bursary application to Pro ACTIVE Central London.
Cary’s proforma documents proved helpful to other would-be students and the course was quickly fully subscribed.
Cary is already looking forward to the rest of the course of six days spread over three months.
Although the course appears expensive at first sight, it is actually in line with other sports and there are often local bursaries (e.g. by County Sports Partnerships) to help bear the cost.
Eric Ciake and Trevor Hoskins are the joint tutors on this course.
Said Cary, (who has already attained an Rugby Football Union UKCC Level 2) “…I have really enjoyed this weekend, and understand much better what we must accomplish. The course is good…”
The UKCC Level 1 and Level 2 Wrestling courses are designed to take Wrestling Coaching across the UK to the next level, to give the best chance to the next generation of young wrestlers for Tokyo 2020 and beyond…
