British Wrestling is pleased to announce the formation of the Performance Advisory Group, which will advise on the development and delivery of performance wrestling.
The advisory group has been formed to advocate for and oversee the successful development and implementation of the Performance Strategy for British Wrestling. It will ensure that British Wrestling delivers a performance pathway, based on ‘what it takes to win’, that is aligned across the sport and enables wrestlers to compete at the highest levels internationally.
We are pleased to confirm that director Derek Redmond will Chair the Performance Advisory Group joined by Chief Executive Craig Anthony and Performance Manager Huw Griffiths. A key feature of the group will be making the most of UK Sport investment and the group will include BWA’s UK Sport appointed Performance Advisor.
British Wrestling is committed to ensuring athletes remain at the centre of the pathway therefore the group will have representation from both Senior and Junior athletes. We are looking for 2 athlete representatives to work alongside members of the group to support the development and delivery of the performance programme. The athlete representatives will need to cover the following:
Athlete Representative Requirements:
To provide further expertise and experience to the group British Wrestling are looking for 3 Performance Advisors. Performance Advisors will have experience in performance wrestling, talent/performance coaching, performance support, performance leadership and/or culture development. This is a voluntary role and expenses will be paid in accordance with British Wrestling’s expenses policy.
