About Dr Saam

Dr Saam Falahati is a fully qualified General Practitioner and a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners with a special interest in medical education and sports medicine. Saam is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Glasgow Medical School offering teaching in small groups to medical students. 

Dr Saam has been certified as a United World Wrestling (UWW) physician since 2019, and is very familiar with wrestling medicine at the highest level of the sport. He was one of two doctors sent by UWW to oversee the medical coverage during the 2021 World Championships in Oslo at the height of the Coronavirus pandemic and has since been appointed to other major competitions including the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. 

Dr Falahati is working with other UWW doctors to produce and publish the first wrestling medicine handbook.
