About Lawrence
Lawrence joined British Wrestling in 2025 as Development Manager – Competitions. His role focuses on designing and delivering fair, inclusive, and high-quality competition frameworks that strengthen athlete pathways and enhance the reputation of UK wrestling and grappling events.
Lawrence began his martial arts journey in 2001 with Thai boxing, before expanding into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2008. Since 2009, he has worked extensively in competition organisation, building a reputation for clear communication, operational innovation, and athlete-focused delivery. His experience spans event logistics, compliance, financial modelling, and creative branding — always with the goal of ensuring athletes and coaches feel supported and valued.
Prior to his appointment, Lawrence played a central role in the UK grappling community, managing major BJJ competitions all around the UK and Europe and fostering strong relationships with clubs nationwide. His commitment to fairness, inclusivity, and community spirit continues to drive his work at British Wrestling.
