From 25th July wrestlers across England will be able to Return to the Mat for individual functional training only.
After securing further guidance from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Sport England we can confirm that wrestling clubs can open to deliver socially distanced sessions indoors from 25th July.
This correlates with the first phase of our Return to the Mat plan, Return to Club. There is to be no contact with others outside of your household. Training with equipment can occur but it should be thoroughly cleaned between uses.
A full set of resources have now been published on the main British Wrestling Coronavirus page, scroll to the bottom for the downloads. We will be hosting two webinars next week to talk you through the guidance and answer your questions. You can book onto the webinars through the membership and events portal here. Book Now!
We are also pleased to announce that early next week a British Wrestling specific version of Reactivate, the training package for returning to sports facilities, will be available. Once we have all the details we will send out the link for you to sign up.
We continue to work with other combat sports, Sport England and DCMS to develop our Return to the Mat plans and identify ways in which we can help you get back to full wrestling as soon as it is safe to do so.
