The Welsh Wrestling Association – Reslo Cymru (WWA) and British Wrestling are seeking a dedicated individual to join their boards as the Home Nation Director for Wales. This pivotal volunteer role involves approximately one day per month and focuses on developing wrestling in Wales and across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise and guidance on issues impacting wrestling in Wales.
- Represent the views and needs of the WWA at the UK level.
- Support the work of the WWA in Wales and help meet Sport Wales’ requirements.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of British Wrestling.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge and experience of wrestling in Wales, the UK, or internationally (e.g., grassroots development, performance, competition delivery, administration).
- Experience in strategic leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and influencing skills.
- A passion for sport and an understanding of its power to change lives.
- An understanding of the Welsh sport sector and governance requirements.
- Ability to contribute effectively to board and committee discussions, communicate with stakeholders, and make independent decisions.
- A proven commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
- Willingness to actively contribute time to the development of the Welsh Wrestling Association and wrestling in Wales.
