Wrestlers accessed International Olympic Committee funding
Congratulations to GB wrestler Georgina Nelthorpe who has been successful in her application for IOC’s Olympic Solidarity Funding to support her training and qualification bid for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The 2 year funding will help Georgina to finance additional support, training and competition costs in order to prepare her for aim of qualifying for TEAM GB.
“I couldn’t believe it when I received the email to confirm my application had been successful. This will help me to cover the costs of training, sport science and medicine support, travel, camps and competitions. I am incredibly grateful to the BOA, who shortlisted me from the British applications, and the IOC for approving”.
Huw Griffiths, BWA Performance Manager said “this is a great opportunity for Georgina and we are incredibly happy that she has been given access to this funding. It will be a huge help to her preparations for Paris in 2024 and we look forward to supporting her on that journey”.
The Olympic Solidarity Funding is open to athletes from all Olympic sports who are not fully funded via their national organisation.
